Understanding Your Bill

What if the 20th falls on a weekend?

If the 20th does fall on the weekend, we will give you the next Monday to pay your bill with no penalties added. The penalties will then be added on next Tuesday.

Why is my bill so high?

What are you heating with? All electric homes can increase your kilowatt usage. Electric heaters can cause your Kilowatt usage to run your bill $100 or more.

If your bill is running high, please check appliances such as the hot water tank, compressors on the freezer/refrigerator, dryer heating elements going bad, etc. You may call your power company for any further questions about your bill.

Why haven’t I received my bill?

There could be a multitude of reasons your bill hasn’t arrived. More than likely, it got lost in the mail, or it was delayed by the post office. We always mail our bills out at the end of every month. If you haven’t received it in about a week, you can go ahead and give us a call. We’ll tell you how much your bill is, that way you have a higher chance of paying your bill on time.

Was my bill estimated?

No, our men will always go out to read the meters every month. They will do absolutely everything they can before that happens. If it ever were to happen, say the weather was extremely bad, we would inform you of it at the bottom of your bill and offer you a re-read when the weather permits.

What do I do about my outstanding balance?

Unfortunately, at times customers might be late paying their electric bills. When this happens, we urge our customers to contact us to avoid a disconnection of electric service. We consider disconnecting the electric service for nonpayment a last resort and would rather work out payment arrangements.
